How to Play Adhan on Alexa Automatically

·3 min read

Why use Alexa for adhan?

If you have an Amazon Echo or Alexa-enabled device at home, you already have everything you need to hear the adhan at the right time, every day. No phone alarms to set. No apps to open. Just the call to prayer, playing through your speaker automatically.

AzanCast connects to your Alexa and plays a beautiful adhan at the exact prayer time for your location. It adjusts for seasonal changes, so Fajr in the summer and Fajr in the winter are always correct.

What you need

Step 1: Create your AzanCast account

Go to myazancast.com and sign up with your email. You can also sign up directly through the Alexa app when you enable the skill.

Step 2: Enable the AzanCast skill

Open the Alexa app on your phone. Search for "AzanCast" in the Skills section. Tap "Enable" and sign in with your AzanCast account to link it.

Step 3: Set your location and preferences

In your AzanCast dashboard, set your city or coordinates. Choose your preferred calculation method (ISNA, MWL, Egyptian, etc.) and your madhab for Asr timing.

You can also pick which adhan sound you want. AzanCast includes multiple adhan recordings, and you can set a different one for Fajr if you prefer.

Step 4: Choose your prayers

Select which prayers you want the adhan to play for. Most people enable all five, but you can turn off individual ones. For example, if you are usually at the mosque for Dhuhr, you might only want Fajr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha at home.

Step 5: You are done

That is it. The adhan will now play on your Alexa at the correct time for each prayer. No reminders to set, no alarms to manage. It just works.

Optional: Add dua after adhan

AzanCast can also play the dua after adhan automatically. Enable it in your dashboard settings and choose from the available recordings. The dua plays right after the adhan finishes.
